Jameson, A. (1989).Computational Aerodynamics for Aircraft Design. 245, 361-371.

This Journal article is about aircraft design. It discusses how the flow of air over an aircraft should be used in the design process. This article mostly discusses how to use the math equations that will help figure out the design of the air plane. Also, this paper talks about how to “optimize the aerodynamic performance.”

3a. Interesting

Last class was very interesting. We learned how thins in the world move. Such as a robots arm or a car. Also, there are many different types of hardware out for everything out there today. I learned that microprocessors are Digital to Analog Converter (DAC) or Analog to Digital Converter (ADC). We use microprocessors to run many things today, such as computers. I found it interesting when you guys talked about what makes up an airplane and the simulator looked fun also.  One other thing is a sensor. We use sensors in our cars and may other objects. Sensors in cars tell he car how much acceleration to give the engine when the cars is on cruise control.

How does knowing what you learned today affect your daily life?

In class last week, we discussed how cars work. I also found it very interesting when the class discussed how a combustion engine worked. I did not know that the air in the motor is first compressed with gasoline and then ignited by the spark plugs. I was very interested when you discussed how an engineer must first come up with a general plan before they can even start working on the project. Also, the CAD software that you showed and discussed in class helped me remember some of the things that can be done by using a computer program. You can design a car, house, boat, plane, and mostly anything else by using so variation of a CAD program.

Today’s Lesson

Today’s lesson in class was very interesting in many different ways. I had never known that there was so many ways to learn. Also, I did not know that the learning process could be impacted by your own personality. I had enjoyed learning about the different websites and search engines that the teachers had discussed with us. I believe that these websites will help me in the long run when I have to start doing research papers. The discussion aspect of the class was interesting, but I believe it became unexciting when nobody could find anything to say. Though, I thought it interesting when I found out what type of person I am from that worksheet you had given us. But all in all, the class was very fun and it was presented well.
